Driven by fodac (foundation for the development of arts and culture) and the City of Vernier, the project was built around this idea: not to create another cultural facility, but a place capable of bringing together artistic creation, artists, audiences and everyday life in one shared movement.
On Geneva’s right bank, in the Châtelaine neighbourhood, Concorde brings together performance, rehearsal and work spaces, as well as a municipal library, a restaurant, a hotel and student housing. This proximity is anything but incidental. It is an integral part of the project. It allows people who might never otherwise have crossed paths to share the same place - sometimes for an evening, sometimes for longer.
Since February 2025, Eve-Anouk Jebejian and Frédéric Steinbrüchel have been leading the venue’s general and artistic direction. Together, they are overseeing the development of Concorde and its many activities, while accompanying its opening alongside a team of nearly forty staff members.
After ten years of construction, the building designed by Madrid-based architecture firm CCJVV opened its doors on 25 September 2026.
From that date onwards, people are able to come to Concorde to attend a concert, rehearse a choreography, take part in a workshop, have lunch, stay overnight or simply pass through the building. Culture occupies central place, without ever being isolated from everything else.
