For this piece, the Lausanne-based artist Géraldine Chollet has drawn very loose inspiration from the Book of Jonah; she does not, in fact, choreograph stories or rituals, but rather relationships in flux.
La Tendresse du ventre de la baleine comes to life around and amongst the audience. Amidst repetitive movements, group dances and live music with a club-like beat, we are immersed in a rich sensory experience, where delicacy rubs shoulders with frenzy – like a wave that jostles and envelops us.
Here we are, in the belly of the whale!
