For the performers, THE DOG DAYS ARE OVER 2.0 is an extremely demanding, even exhausting, play.

They leap for over an hour, performing a complex, mathematical, repetitive and dynamic choreography almost entirely in unison, which demands perfection… until the inevitable mistake occurs. This radical choreographic gesture raises questions: where does the boundary lie between art and entertainment? Who are we, as spectators, when we view the suffering of the dancers on stage as if it were a bullfight in an arena? Is contemporary dance a striptease for the elite?

These questions ultimately point to political and social trends that remain relevant eleven years after the piece’s premiere. For THE DOG DAYS ARE OVER 2.0 is a re-staging of the work that brought international acclaim to choreographer Jan Martens in 2014. And this presents an incredible opportunity to enjoy a powerful and memorable experience.
