Blu Samu

A well-known artist on the Belgian music scene, Blu Samu has made a name for herself in the same way she composes her music: by staying true to herself.

Whilst ‘Blu’ evokes the ocean and the sea of his native Portugal, ‘Samu’ refers to the samurai and his passion for Japanese culture and manga.

Drawing on a fluid and liminal identity, shaped by multiple cultures and sensibilities, Blu Samu explores self-sabotage, nostalgia, self-love, letting go and resilience, without ever seeking easy solutions. She does not dramatise her flaws: she lays them bare, embraces them and transforms them into living matter.
