Ten performers alternate between rage and tenderness, hope and disillusionment: in his explosive CARCAÇA, choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira drives his dancers to a frenzy of boundless movement, through a raw yet precise dance.

By blending urban dance styles with traditional dances banned by the Portuguese dictatorship, he evokes history by linking it to the present. It is a history he chooses to convey through bodies that pound the floor, accelerate, vibrate and transform, thereby embodying a disillusioned yet determined youth.

In a rebellious, carnival-like style, accompanied by live music, CARCAÇA celebrates the power of the collective. It’s a wild, frenetic burst of energy that courses right through you!
