Les Limbes
Etienne Saglio
What becomes of us after death? Where do those who pass away go? It is into this space left vacant by certainties that Etienne Saglio leads us.
A leading figure in contemporary magic, this internationally renowned artist has been blurring the boundaries between illusion, theatre and the visual arts for over fifteen years. In Les Limbes, he accompanies a man grappling with his ghosts. Step by step, the man leaves the shore and plunges into a world where his bearings falter.
Set to the music of Vivaldi and the composer Jeff Domingues, this symbolic tale, populated by enigmatic creatures and unsettling apparitions, sweeps us away on a fantastical journey.
In the presence of the actor and his puppet, reality cracks and the impossible becomes tangible. An invitation to see what eludes us in a different light…
Please note: the show uses ‘Théâtre noir’ techniques. Several extended sequences take place in sudden darkness.
