What if Freud had been Hitler’s psychiatrist? Could absolute evil have been prevented?

In this ‘seated stand-up, lecture and intimate chat – part daft, part intellectual’, Eric Feldman explores, with humour and gravity, the traumas of the ‘hidden children’ who survived the Holocaust: his own parents, uncles and aunts. Hanging on the edge of a mystery we find ourselves wanting to unravel, the text plunges us into a whirlwind of thoughts, emotions, laughter and memories tinged with Yiddish. We encounter, amongst others, Uncle Lucien and Aunt Sarah, the great writer Isaac Bashevis Singer, Eric’s cat Milosh, and are reminded of the great figures of New York’s Jewish comedians. A work of autofiction that transcends his personal history, touches people’s hearts and, in these dark times, celebrates the fragility and the miracle of being alive.
