Fabio Marra

Theatre

Fabio Marra, an Italian, has chosen France as the place to write and work. He tells us stories that he conceives in Neapolitan and writes in French.

This combination gives rise to a light touch that does not prevent the author from tackling serious issues.

In 2007, he founded the Carrozzone theatre company, which produces plays for which he is the writer, director and actor: *Teresina*, *Mon serviteur*, *La naïve*, *Rappelle-toi*, *Dans les chaussures d’un autre*, *Ensemble* and *Un pas après l’autre*. *Ensemble* received two nominations at the 2017 Prix Molières. *Ensemble* has been adapted for the screen twice, in the Czech Republic and in France. He has also written *Allegro ma non troppo* and *A tes souhaits*, and co-wrote *Prêt-à-partir*. He co-directed the play *Le Souffleur* by Emmanuel Vacca.

Fabio Marra is a member of the SACD, the Syndicat National des Metteurs en Scène, the Sociedad de Autores y Autoras de Teatro and the SGAE in Spain.

Carrozzone Theatre Company

Founded by Fabio Marra, the Carrozzone theatre company has, since its inception, been dedicated to creation, dissemination and raising awareness, seeking to bridge the gap between the voices of everyday life and those of artistic creation through contemporary writing.

Carrozzone’s project is rooted in a desire for artistic vitality and freedom in the creation and production of performances.
It champions a form of theatre based on the construction of stories that depict the individual grappling with their loved ones, their environment and their conscience, and which express the difficulty of remaining true to oneself in a world that imposes its own laws and an often rigid view of human and social behaviour.
