Sandrine Lescourant

Hip-hopDance

Also known as MUFASA, Sandrine Lescourant cut her teeth in the world of hip-hop dance battles alongside the pioneers of this culture.

Her training has been enriched by instruction based on highly structured principles: ballet, contemporary dance and traditional African dance.

She remains, nonetheless, self-taught at heart, developing a style rooted in hip-hop values – a dance of resistance on the underground scene – whilst collaborating on stage with several choreographers from the contemporary scene.

Sandrine Lescourant is now the founder and choreographer of the Kilaï company, which she established in 2014. Her approach is characterised by an in-depth exploration of movement, examining social ties and how these are represented through the body.
